Philadelphia trombonist Anthony Triplett is an active soloist, chamber musician, and educator that has performed throughout the United States and Europe. Anthony currently serves as trombonist with the Media Theater Company and frequently performs with Symphoria. As a soloist Anthony has appeared with the Pennsylvania Symphonic Winds, Montgomery County Concert Band (PA), and Andrea Clearfield Salon. Other performance experience includes productions at the Arden Theater, Bristol Riverside Theater, Lancaster Symphony, Riverside Symphonia, and Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra. Anthony has performed at many music education conferences throughout the Midwest and has shared the stage with international tuba soloist Patrick Sheridan, The Boston Brass, Marie Speziale, The Chieftains, and Elvis Costello.
As an educator, Anthony works with students ranging in age from young children through adults. He currently serves as an instructor for Paul Effman Music Service, along with maintaining a successful private low brass studio. Many of his students have had success in honor ensembles such as Bucks County Youth Orchestra, PMEA District honor bands, and several are pursuing music in college. He has also presented guest lectures at Bowling Green State University and the University of Delaware Trombone Day. Anthony serves as the Pennsylvania representative of the International Trombone Association TAPAS program.
Anthony holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music and a Master of Music Performance from Bowling Green State University. Anthony was a participant in the Queens College Solo Seminar in 2010, and the Summer Trombone Workshop in 2008 and 2010. Teachers include: Blair Bollinger-Philadelphia Orchestra, Randall Hawes-Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Garth Simmons- Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Dr. William Mathis-Bowling Green State University, and Michael Young-VanderCook College of Music. Anthony performs exclusively on Edwards trombones and is an Artist / Clinician for the Edwards Instrument Company.
